  • MARRIAGE REQUIREMENTS

    Marriage in Venezuela must comply with the laws and regulations set for in the Civil Code of Venezuela. The Civil Code states that a civil marriage can only be contracted between a woman and a man and it must be performed in the municipality where either the man or the woman resides.

    The civil official in the municipality where the marriage will be performed is required to create a file a minimum of eight days prior to the marriage with the following documents: 1) Marriage License prepared by the official. 2) An affidavit prepared by the official where the couple expresses their desire to marry. 3) A certified copy of the birth certificates of both parties. 4) Divorce documents where applicable.

Currency

Since 2008 the official currency of Venezuelan is the bolívar Fuerte code VEF. The rate of exchange is US $1.00 = VEF 6.29 (exchange rates fluctuates depending on foreign exchange markets) Traveler’s checks, US currency & major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere.

Climate

The country falls into four horizontal temperature zones based primarily on elevation. From the tropical zone where temperatures range between 78.8 and 82.4 °F to the coldest zone in the mountains with yearly averages below 46 °F.
