Beaches® Resorts today officially revealed it will be adding Rosita, the beloved bilingual character from Sesame Street, as the newest walkaround to help bring imaginative fun to guests. Rosita will join the existing cast of characters this fall at Beaches Negril Beach Resort & Spa and Beaches Ocho Rios Spa, Golf & Waterpark Resort in Jamaica, and at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa in Turks & Caicos as part of Beaches Resorts’ exclusive Caribbean Adventure with Sesame Street®.

As a leading family-friendly resort and proud sponsor of Sesame Street, Beaches Resorts is the only Caribbean resort company to offer engaging activities with a colorful cast of walkaround characters including Elmo, Cookie Monster, Super Grover, Zoe, Bert and Ernie, Abby Cadabby, The Count, Oscar the Grouch, Big Bird, Julia, and now, Rosita. Rosita brings a new activity, Soccer Time with Rosita, which invites children of all ages to play her favorite game of fútbol while learning a bit of Spanish along the way.

“We are honored to have cultivated such a strong partnership with Sesame Workshop over the last 15 years and look forward to celebrating Sesame Street’s 50th anniversary by their side,” said Adam Stewart, Deputy Chairman of Sandals Resorts International. “This relationship has allowed us to make each day in paradise special with edu-training activities and programming starring everyone’s favorite Sesame Street friends. Rosita, along with our new Spanish language-learning activity, will make fun family vacations at Beaches even more inclusive.”

Taking its celebration of Sesame Street’s 50th anniversary further, Beaches Resorts is excited to announce its support of the Sesame Street Road Trip, which is bringing free family festivals to ten cities across the United States. The road trip kicks off June 1, 2019 in New York City and concludes in August after passing through Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Denver, Seattle and Los Angeles. At each festival, Beaches Resorts will sponsor a Sand Play area; families in each city will also have the chance to enter to win one of ten Luxury Included® vacations for a family of four.

As part of the 50th anniversary festivities on resort, there will be opportunities for guests of all ages to join in the celebration with an enhanced weekly Carnival parade, including Rosita and her Sesame Street friends, a weekly Sesame Street Birthday Party, and other memorable, Instagrammable moments that can be captured while on resort.

“We’re thrilled that Beaches Resorts will join our landmark anniversary celebration” said Steve Youngwood, Sesame Workshop’s President of Media and Education and Chief Operating Officer. “Thanks to like-minded partners like Beaches, the Sesame StreetRoad Trip will bring communities together to highlight the many ways that Sesame Street helps kids everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder.”

Beaches Resorts continuously evolves its Luxury Included® amenities to offer new and unique experiences for families of all ages and sizes. Through the Caribbean Adventures with Sesame Street®, families can enjoy an array of exclusive activities – every day and all year long – that make Beaches Resorts the optimal vacation for families. These include unique activities like: Baking with Cookie Monster, Magical Treasure Hunts with Abby Cadabby, Amazing Art with Julia and more. Rounding out the on-resort experiences are: Night Night Sleep Tight, a private bedtime tuck-in and story time with a favorite furry friend; weekly character breakfasts; all-access photo shoots featuring all of the Sesame gang; and private birthday parties, all of which are available for an additional fee.
